Getting a foot tattoo, any hints or advice?

Would color be good?
Where is a good place on the foot to get it? I don't want it to be massive but I've heard that small ones aren't good...
It's a symbol of overcoming depression - a butterfly - which I've been dealing with for about 4-5 years...

Talk to your tattoo artist, they will help you figure it out. any color is fine, I have my whole foot done, it hurts like hell, and it's all in color. After 5 years it still looks great. If I could give anyone some advise, don't be cheap when it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for and in this case you can't afford a shitty tattoo for the rest of your life! So if you find a great artist but you think he's too expensive, then save more money!! and don't forget to tip your tattoo artist.
