addictive ink tattoo

Why are tattoo's so addictive?

Before I got my first tattoo, I was one of those people that thought that they were ok but I was only planning on getting just one. I hate needles, so I figured just this once.... Well, I walked out of the tattoo parlor after getting the first one and was already planning the next one. I have 3 now and it has been that way ever since. I am already making plans for a 4th one. So my question is Why are they so addictive?? Is it something in the ink? Is it the Pain? Is it all in the mind? What are your thoughts on this?
Ashley D... wow!! I don't think I could ever sit there that long.... I always get small ones! my first is b/w the shoulders, second is on my upper arm, and the third is behind my ear (which people said would really hurt, but it actually didn't hurt at all)
Talia N...... LMAO! you are my hero for the day!! I find myself consistently finding new ways to cover the one behind my ear and the one on my shoulder when i go to church.

i like them because they are wearable art. like, my skin is my canvas, and the tattoo gun is the paintbrush.

i got a tattoo up under each collar bone recently. second sitting finished today actually. the whole time he was buzzing away by my collarbone i was squinting in pain and trying not to swear. bit in between i was talking to him about the back piece i want, just because the sheer awesomeness of the art involved is increadible.

a little of it may be the pain though. like, i have lots of tattooed friends and former coworkers. but they all have stuff on typical not as painful body parts, like wrists, ankles, armbands, and so on. i was the first of them to go this close to bone, and oh my god people freaked. "how could you stand that? didnt it HURT?" got asked by everyone. and it kinda made me feel proud that i sat there and took it for the five hours it took to do. so it kinda makes me want to get more to prove i can sit for longer to get cool art. plus, my fiance wont agree with me cause he was watching the whole thing, and im sure he will tell you my face suggested otherwise, but after a while, the pain was kind of a turn on....

Tattoo you?
People get tattoos for some of the most heart-warming - and heart-rending - reasons imaginable. For instance: David Cain of Nevada City is having 27 roses tattooed on his arm for each year of his marriage. And recently, a woman who underwent a double mastectomy had nipples tattooed on her reconstructed breasts. "That was a heavy day," recalls says Cory Norris, an internationally recognized ...
