is it tacky to get a tattoo of a logo from a show?

i really like the logo from the show "Carninvale". (if you havent seen the show its a diamond shape, black on the top triangle with a cresent moon and a star, and white on the bottom triangle with a sun design) and have been thinking that one day i want a tatt of it. its not just coz i like the show, but also because i was looking for a simple design involving a moon etc and when i saw the show for the first time i thought it was perfect. is it tacky tho? or is it even legal? would i have to get permission?

if you think when you are 30yo 40yo 50yo and 80yo you will still be able to look back on the tattoo and say omg i love this tattoo and i'm still soooo happy with it.

than by all means go get it done.
