A gold record presented to Savanna’s native son Wayne King arrived in Savanna Monday, March 29. The gold record (at top) represents 5 million records sold for Melody of Love “Why Do I Love You.” King received this gold record in 1968 at “An Evening with Franklyn MacCormack” with whom King collaborated in 1941 to make the record on the Victor label.
